Hello and welcome back to my blog! After a period of quiet, I am thrilled to share a significant update in my professional journey.

With over 25 years dedicated to child safeguarding and supporting families across the UK and internationally, my path has taken a transformative turn towards empowering organizations through neurodiversity training and systemic safeguarding consultancy. This development complements my ongoing to commitment to child protection training.

Why The Shift?

The discovery of my neurodiversity has been a profound catalyst for change in my own personal life and work practice and has inspired a shift towards creating more inclusive and understanding workplace cultures. My personal journey, marked by challenges and instances of bullying in the workplace due to a lack of understanding and support of my neurodiversity, has fueled my passion to empower organisations to embrace and support diverse talent and thinking.

First Up…Introducing Thrive: Neurodiversity in the Workplace

I am delighted to announce that I have qualified as an Instructor Partner for the Thrive: Neurodiversity In The Workplace programme! As a professional, it is vital to keep learning and developing our own knowledge so that we can serve our clients in the best ways possible. The opportunity to become a Thrive Instructor Partner landed on my path just as I was looking for ways to harness my experiences and help to champion positive change in working environments that allow everyone to work to their strengths in inclusive settings.

By focusing on creating an inclusive environment that recognizes, supports, and leverages the unique strengths and needs of neurodiverse employees, including those with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia, the Thrive programme transforms workplace cultures and, in doing so, enhances the competitive edge of businesses. The programme is designed to ensure employees reach their full potential, leading to the success of your business.

But Why The Need For Change?

In the UK, 1 in 7 people are neurodiverse, yet their needs are often overlooked due to a lack of awareness. This oversight can lead to increased risks of mental illness and poor well-being. Our programme addresses these challenges by bridging the gap of understanding between neurodiverse employees, their managers, and colleagues, which in turn enhances innovation, productivity, and employee well-being.

Second…Systemic Safeguarding Consultancy And Training

Alongside neurodiversity, I offer tailored consultancy and training in systemic safeguarding. This comprehensive approach is designed to fundamentally integrate a culture of systemic safeguarding within organisations, permeating every level of an organisation’s internal staff structure, and ensuring that every employee, from leadership to entry-level, is equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to uphold and advocate for safeguarding principles.

By embedding a systemic safeguarding culture both internally and externally, organisations can achieve a holistic approach to protection and safety. This not only complies with legal and ethical standards but also enhances organisational reputation, fosters a positive working environment, and ensures the delivery of safe and effective services. My role in this process is to guide, educate, and support organisations through every step, ensuring that safeguarding becomes an integral part of their identity and operations.

What Sets Me Apart?

My unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise sits at the intersection of safeguarding and neurodiversity. This perspective allows me to bring knowledge of the interplay between these areas, which can radically inform how an organisation operates positively.
